I just caught wind of another new bar opening in Chicago, supposedly slated to open up in the recently re-named SoRiNoLo neighborhood (South of the River North of the Loop) at some indefinite date in the near/distant future.  Sounds intriguing…

Announcing the new concept bar “Prohibition”, an exclusive 2 seat only, no-holds-barred “coupe” bar. This space has been designed by up and coming Mart designers and will cater to the most exclusive clientele in Chicago and the surrounding nation.  In fact, by all measures, this establishment will be too exclusive for any actual Chicagoans, and hopes to appeal mostly to the elite European and New Amsterdam population.  Since the staff consists of one person, hours are still yet undecided, and are at the whim of the mixology award-rich bartender Jon D’Mason Luc Perrier, who prefers to shed the pretense of his French sounding name and go simply by “chef”.  The best advice we’ve heard for securing a prized seat at the bar is from his infrequently updated Twitter feed is as follows: “Come after breakfast, bring along a lunch and leave before supper time.”

Rumors have it that ingredients will be the freshest, if not still completely alive in some cases, and are all sourced from the more reputable farms and cooperatives.  One source reports that “chef” is even claiming that if at least 65% of your cocktail wasn’t alive within the last 14 hours, then it’s on the house.  We can’t wait to get our lips wrapped on one of these, if they ever let is in, that is.
